About AxonPeptide

What is AxonPeptide?

AxonPeptide is a U.S.-based research supply company providing high-purity peptides, small molecules, and related analytical reference materials for laboratory, analytical, and scientific research applications. All products are labeled For Research Use Only (RUO) and are not intended for human or veterinary use.

We are not a manufacturing facility and do not position ourselves as one. AxonPeptide operates as a scientific stewardship and distribution company built around stronger verification and documentation standards than what is commonly seen in the RUO market.

Who founded AxonPeptide?

AxonPeptide was founded by Nina Jaitly, MD, MPH, following research experience at the National Institutes of Health and clinical training. Through that work, she recognized significant transparency gaps in the research-use-only market — particularly around documentation, batch verification, and supplier accountability — and built AxonPeptide to help address them.

What makes AxonPeptide different?

Many companies in this space source finished materials, perform minimal verification (if any), and resell them. AxonPeptide is built around a verification-first philosophy that prioritizes:

  • Rigorous supplier vetting and ongoing review
  • A two-phase independent analytical verification model across three external laboratories
  • Lot-level documentation transparency through AxonVerified
  • Scientific stewardship oversight by an independent MD/PhD review panel
  • Long-term scientific accountability over hype or unsubstantiated claims

Our goal is to bridge affordability, accessibility, and scientific accountability in a market where those three rarely meet.

What is AxonPeptide's long-term mission?

To responsibly bridge scientific rigor, educational transparency, and real-world evidence — while remaining honest about what is known, what is still emerging, and where stronger research is still needed. We believe better transparency moves research forward responsibly.

About Our Products

Are AxonPeptide products for human consumption?

No. All AxonPeptide products are strictly intended for research and laboratory use only. They are not intended for human or animal consumption, medical use, diagnostic use, or therapeutic application.

What does "For Research Use Only" mean?

Research Use Only (RUO) means AxonPeptide products are supplied exclusively for in-vitro research, laboratory development, analytical testing, and educational scientific study. They are not approved by the FDA for medical or consumer use.

What level of purity can I expect?

AxonPeptide products are verified to meet or exceed 98%+ purity, unless otherwise stated on the product page.

Are your peptides sterile?

Products are supplied for research applications only. Sterility characteristics may vary by product and should be confirmed on each lot-specific Certificate of Analysis.

Sourcing & Suppliers

Does AxonPeptide manufacture compounds in-house?

No. Domestic manufacturing of analytical reference materials at this scale is extraordinarily expensive and often creates accessibility barriers outside heavily grant-funded environments. Because of this, most organizations in this space rely on global sourcing — but global sourcing can introduce concerns around consistency, documentation, and material integrity. AxonPeptide was built specifically to help close that gap through structured supplier evaluation and independent verification.

Where are your products produced?

AxonPeptide partners with carefully vetted North American and international manufacturing partners operating within structured quality systems. At a minimum, suppliers must operate within GMP-aligned and/or ISO-certified quality frameworks appropriate to the material being produced.

That said, we don't believe certifications alone tell the full story. A certificate is a useful starting point, but what matters more is what the actual batch data shows. Peptides are fragile and prone to degradation with minimal disruption — between packaging, shipping, receiving, and unpacking, a lot can happen before material reaches the lab. That's why every batch that arrives at AxonPeptide goes through documentation review followed by independent analytical verification before it's approved for release. No exceptions.

How does AxonPeptide select its suppliers?

We are deliberately selective. Suppliers are evaluated on:

  • Manufacturing consistency
  • Historical batch performance
  • Documentation quality and transparency
  • Traceability and communication
  • Prior analytical performance
  • Supplier quality history and reliability

Every relationship starts with a small trial order followed by analytical review before we expand the partnership. We maintain internal lot traceability across the full chain — supplier → shipment → testing → final release — so every batch can be tracked end-to-end. Supplier relationships are also reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Quality, Verification & Laboratory Partners

How is product quality verified?

AxonPeptide uses a two-phase independent verification model built around three external analytical laboratories. No material is released for distribution until it has cleared both phases of review.

Phase I — Molecule-Specific Validation

Every batch undergoes documentation review followed by a molecule-specific analytical panel conducted by ARS Labs. Testing typically includes:

  • HPLC purity analysis
  • LC-MS identity confirmation
  • Endotoxin screening
  • Heavy metals analysis (when appropriate)
  • Additional product-specific testing based on compound class

Phase II — Randomized Validation

A randomized subset of batches that have cleared Phase I is then sent for independent cross-verification by either Kovera Labs or Freedom Diagnostics. This second-look review functions as a continuous integrity check on the Phase I process and on the released supply chain as a whole.

Only material that clears both phases is released for fulfillment. If a batch does not meet our internal standards, it does not move forward — the cost is absorbed and the material is discarded.

Who are AxonPeptide's laboratory partners?

AxonPeptide works with three independent analytical laboratories, each playing a distinct role in our verification model:

Using two independent laboratories at the Phase II stage reduces single-source bias and provides an additional layer of cross-verification on released material.

Are these laboratories independent from AxonPeptide?

Yes. All three laboratories operate independently from AxonPeptide's commercial RUO operations. ARS Labs is affiliated with the broader Axon group but operates under separation enforced by an independent Medical Stewardship Council. Kovera Labs and Freedom Diagnostics are fully external third-party laboratories with no commercial relationship to AxonPeptide beyond contracted analytical services.

On top of laboratory-level independence, an independent scientific stewardship panel composed of three MDs and two PhDs reviews all analyses before any material is released for distribution. Even trace levels of endotoxin or heavy metals can skew research results, and our team takes that seriously.

Why doesn't every product receive the exact same testing panel?

Different materials carry different complexity and risk profiles. Rather than applying unnecessary testing universally, our scientific stewardship panel evaluates each compound on:

  • Product complexity
  • Supplier history
  • Previous batch consistency
  • Risk profile

This tiered model allows us to allocate testing resources intentionally while maintaining strong oversight standards.

Do you perform stability testing beyond identity, purity, endotoxin, and heavy metals?

For certain materials, yes. Some compounds are more sensitive than others, so depending on the product we may also review moisture content, oxidation stability, lyophilization integrity, storage sensitivity, and short-term degradation behavior. Examples:

  • Glutathione compounds receive additional oxidation testing.
  • 5-Amino-1MQ is monitored for moisture content, since amino acid–based compounds are more vulnerable to degradation without proper controls.
  • Larger-chain peptides such as the GLP class are tested across larger sample sizes given their higher distribution velocity.

Which tests apply to which compound is determined directly by the scientific stewardship panel.

AxonVerified & Documentation

What is AxonVerified?

AxonVerified is our public documentation and trust portal, built to make verification visible rather than simply claimed. Through AxonVerified, customers can review:

  • Lot-specific Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
  • Batch documentation
  • Verification records
  • Educational reference content

Visit AxonVerified.com to look up lot-level documentation directly.
